Guided tours at the heart of the City - May 14 to June 20
- Quartier international
From May 14 to June 20, Heritage Montreal in partnership with Ivanhoé Cambridge is pleased to present At the Heart of the City, a series of three architectural walking tours that offer Montrealers the perfect opportunity to step out of their workaday routine and take a fresh look at the buildings that constitute the heart of our city.
Rediscover Victoria Square and its environs! Built in the early 19th century, Victoria Square was an integral part of the Montreal business district by the middle of the century. Situated just outside what we now consider downtown, this part of the city was then a commercial centre, with a succession of businesses constructing buildings to suit their needs. Look at the traces of a neighbourhood devoted to printing, understand the emergence of modernist projects, and experience the renewal symbolized by the Quartier international de Montréal.
Departure: at 5:30 p.m. (in English or French) and at 6 p.m. (in French), at Victoria Square (corner of Saint-Antoine West and Square-Victoria Streets)
English tours are offered from May 23 to June 11
