Next Destination centre-ville’s Santa Claus Parade will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
The 64th edition of Destination centre-ville’s Santa Claus Paradewill kick off the downtown holiday season with Joannie Rochette, Joël Legendre and Les Petites Tounes among several others!
On Saturday, November 22, at 11:00 a.m., the public is invited to celebrate the arrival of the holiday season in the heart of downtown Montréal. Young and young at heart are expected along Sainte-Catherine Street West, between Du Fort and Saint-Urbain streets, to live the excitement of the most popular Christmas event in Quebec! A not-to-miss kick-off of the holiday festivities, the parade has become a genuine tradition for thousands of visitors.
Presented by Destination centre-ville and produced by Daniel Bouchard, Destination centre-ville’s Santa Claus parade will once again exhibit more than twenty large floats among which the Star Fairy’s and Santa Claus’ floats, as well as a host of singers, dancers and street performers. And needless to add the highly expected arrival of Santa Claus! Of course, we cannot pass in silence several new features, including the arrival of the Christmas Mail float. Despite 21st century technology, Santa Claus still appreciates receiving letters from the little ones.
Among the different tableaus depicting the magic of Christmas, Joël Legendre will animate Place du Marché and encourage the crowd to sing along as he interprets popular titles showcased on his new Christmas album. Also noteworthy will be the musical participation of Les Petites Tounes, the sensation of the moment that is sure to please the crowd’s younger members.
Joannie Rochette is back as the Star Fairy!
After inspiring the whole country at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games, the figure skater and bronze medalist is happily back with the Christmas parade as the Star Fairy. Her role is ultimately to prepare the crowd for Santa’s arrival.

Again this year, Pierre-Yves Lord and Anouk Meunier will host the parade on TVA and Yoopa networks while Anick Dumontet will collect live comments from the crowd. Mascot Théo of the Yoopa network will complete the animation team.
