Montreal Eaton Center for "Votre arbre, notre Terre"
- No to be missed
Every year, the Montreal Eaton Centre celebrates Earth Day in a way that brings people together to show their mutual support for the environment.
For the 2016 edition, an interactive terminal has been set up in the food court to encourage shoppers to create their own “virtual” trees. The Montreal Eaton Centre will then make them come to life by planting 1,000 trees as part of the 375,000 Trees program spearheaded by Jour de la Terre Québec.
375,000 Trees is an ambitious undertaking. As the name suggests, the objective is to plant 375,000 trees in Greater Montreal by 2017 to commemorate the city’s 375th anniversary and leave an enduring legacy for the community. The Montreal area is naturally the most biodiverse ecosystem in Quebec. The goal of this program is to contribute to the ongoing implementation of the Regional Management and Development Plan (PMAD) and the city’s Canopy Action Plan.
You can join in on the movement from now until June 21.
